OpenAI Expands Budget-Friendly ChatGPT Go Plan to Indonesia
OpenAI has launched its ChatGPT Go subscription plan in Indonesia, priced at under $4.57 (Rp75,000) per month. The mid-tier offering bridges the gap between the free version and the premium ChatGPT Plus plan, mirroring a similar rollout in India last month.
The Go plan grants users 10 times higher usage limits than the free tier, including expanded capabilities for prompts, image generation, and file uploads. Improved conversation memory enables more personalized responses over time. ChatGPT head Nick Turley noted Indonesia's rapid AI adoption, citing its position among ChatGPT's top five markets by weekly active users.
This expansion intensifies competition with Google in Southeast Asia's burgeoning AI sector. The India launch reportedly doubled ChatGPT's subscriber base, signaling strong demand for affordable AI access in emerging markets.
